  • LENT 2026 at POTHE

    • Lent is a time of penitential preparation for Easter. This season is meant to be a time of repentance, fasting, and almsgiving, as a way to connect deeper with God. It is an opportunity for Christians to reflect on their lives, recognize their faults, and open themselves to the grace of the Resurrection. The 40 days of Lent symbolize a period of trial, purification, and preparation for something new, offering an opportunity for renewal and transformation. We invite you to observe this penitential season that the Church gives us to grow closer to our Lord.

      Office of Tenebrae

We invite you to join us for Tenebrae at Sacred Heart on Wednesday, April 1 at 7 PM. During a Tenebrae, psalms are chanted and the lights and candles in the church are slowly extinguished until only the Paschal candle remains lit. This is a beautiful monastic tradition that helps us enter into the darkness with Christ as we prepare to commemorate His passion.

      • The Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary
        • The Rosary is a very common Catholic devotion.
        • This prayer consists of reciting the Hail Mary, Our Father, and Glory Be while meditating on the mysteries of the lives of Mary and Jesus. Through the Rosary, we can reflect on the life of Our Blessed Mother and Our Blessed Lord and pray through Mary’s intercession for our intentions.
