What is a spiritual inventory?

A Spiritual Inventory is a way to evaluate the special gifts and abilities that the Holy Spirit gives us through Baptism. These gifts and abilities are called charisms that we are called to exercise in the service of God. By taking this inventory, you will learn what charisms you have and what ministries in the Parish they would be most effective in.

In short, the Spiritual Inventory will help you learn more about your spiritual charisms and where your talents would be the most effective in volunteering for the Parish of the Holy Eucharist!

How to take the spiritual inventory
- Open the Spiritual Inventory at the yellow button to the right. View the document on screen or opt for printing.
- Begin with the prayer on the front page, so that your discernment may be guided by Our Lord.
- Read through the questions on pages 4-6, and write down your answers, either on p. 3 if you printed the inventory, or on a separate sheet of paper.
- After you answered each question, total each column on p.3 and write your totals on p. 7.
- Find your charism with the highest score write that as your top charism on p. 7, followed by your second and third highest scores as your second and third charism.
- Read the definitions of your top three charisms on pages 8-9.
- Match your top charisms with Parish ministries. Read more in Interpreting Results below.

INTERPRETING RESULTS - Minstries and contactsOnce you have completed the Spiritual Inventory, note the three charisms with which your gifts and abilities most closely align. On pages 10-27 of the packet, read through the pairings of spiritual charisms with the ministries in which they are most beneficial and impactful.
After going through the parings, pray and discern which ministry or ministries you are most interested in and for which you would be a good fit.
Once you have one or a few ministries you would like to learn more about, contact the appropriate person listed on pages 28-30 using the information on page 30.
