THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN 2025!
POTHE will be supporting as many families as possible by working with local food pantries to ensure that Thanksgiving is a bountiful and blessed day! All parishioners are asked to contribute food or assist in delivery. These efforts are being coordinated by the POTHE Social Justice and Peace Commission to support our mission "to follow Christ’s example in serving those suffering from poverty, hunger, or injustice."

Holy Martyrs— We will be preparing Thanksgiving baskets to provide a holiday meal to local families. Lists of food and donation envelops will be on the holiday table in the narthex beginning on November 8-9. Please return all donations the weekend prior to Thanksgiving, November 22-23. Baskets will be organized at the church and delivered on Monday, November 24. For more information, contact Danielle Tracy, [email protected] or (207) 232-5113.
Donation suggestions that can be left in the Holy Martyrs narthex at any time, under the table;- Canned goods – peas, corn, beans, cranberry sauce, fruit salad
- Boxed stuffing mix, boxed potatoes, turkey gravy
- Salt and Pepper shakers, broth- chicken, veggie, beef
- Italian or Ranch salad dressing, olive oil
- Raisins, craisins, nuts, crackers, salad croutons
- Coffee, tea, hot cocoa, dessert treats
Donation suggestions for perishables. Please contact Danielle before you drop any of the following so we can arrange for proper refrigeration.- Turkeys
- Bags of Clementines or tangerines,
- Bags of salad mix, bags of carrots,
- Fresh sweet peppers, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, green beans
- Bags of potatoes, bags of onions
- Bars of cheese, Dinner rolls, Sticks or tubs of butter
- Dessert pies, whipped cream

Cash or checks (payable to POTHE, HM food baskets) will be used to purchase food to complete all the dinner baskets. We are happy to shop for you – thanks for the donation!

In light of the worries over decreased funding for food assistance, and the everyday worries over high grocery bills, high heating bills, and high insurance bills; we are reaching out to collect everyday food for the Falmouth Food Pantry. We will collect any nonperishable donations here at Holy Martyrs and deliver them to the Falmouth Food Pantry for distribution among all the friends they work with in the community.

St. Jude—will collect food donations to support Freeport Community Services and local families. Pick up a grocery bag and shopping list November 9. Return donations to St. Jude by November 16. FMI, email Chris, [email protected], or Pat, [email protected].

St. Gregory the Great—will collect food for holiday baskets to be offered to families in need. Bags with suggested items will be available the weekend of November 8-9. Your donations can be returned until November 22-23. Baskets will be packed and delivered on November 23. Questions can be directed to Kathy, [email protected].

Sacred Heart— Will be collecting food to assist the Yarmouth Food Pantry in creating Thanksgiving Baskets. Bags with lists of needed items were handed out after Mass November 1-2. Food will be collected November 16. FMI, email Elizabeth or Mary, [email protected], [email protected].
