LANGUAGE OF COMPASSION PRESENTATIONThe Social Justice Commission recently considered ways in which we could assist parishioners in greeting the world from a place of Christlike love, mercy, and compassion. We are called to evangelize and share the message of the Lord especially with those most in need. Sometimes we lack the words or understanding to greet our brothers and sisters in Christ from a place of compassion and not judgement. Judy Shaw, a parishioner and member of the Project Rachel Team, will offer a Language of Compassion presentation – greeting those who are post-abortive from a place of love, mercy, and compassion, on Sunday, March 15 at Holy Martyrs, 3-5 pm.

Social Justice and Peace at Parish of the Holy Eucharist (POTHE)
POTHE’s Commission on Social Justice and Peace works to meet the needs of our community and beyond — with your help.What We Do
- Manage donations for the Needy Fund
- Evaluate requests for assistance within the parish area
- Collaborate with the Diocese and community groups supporting those in need
- Partner with local food pantries, social service organizations, and other churches
- Promote service projects such as:
- The Giving Tree holiday gift‑giving
- Food baskets at Thanksgiving and Easter
- Support our Sister Parish Program in Haiti, including two churches and a community center with a children’s feeding program
The Needy Fund
The Needy Fund, administered by the Commission, provides emergency financial assistance for urgent needs such as:- Utility shut‑offs (CMP)
- Food and clothing
- Gasoline and transportation
How You Can Help
The Needy Fund and Haiti Fund are sustained entirely by voluntary, free‑will contributions from POTHE parishioners.- Please note Needy Fund or Haiti Fund”on the memo line of your check.
- Parishioner Elizabeth serves as the experienced chair of the Commission.
