The Parish of the Holy Eucharist is seeking an experienced and collaborative Manager of Facilities & Grounds to oversee the maintenance, safety, and long-term stewardship of our parish properties. This part-time position works 30 hours per week and pays $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience. Reporting to the Parish Business Coordinator, the Manager of Facilities & Grounds provides leadership for the care and improvement of multiple church campuses, buildings, grounds, and related facilities, working closely with parish staff, volunteers, and contractors to ensure that all properties are safe, welcoming, and well maintained.
The successful candidate will oversee facility maintenance and capital improvement projects, coordinate repairs and inspections, manage contractors, support emergency preparedness and safety compliance efforts, and help develop and monitor facilities budgets. This role also provides leadership and direction to facilities staff and volunteers, promotes a culture of teamwork and accountability, and seeks opportunities to improve systems, processes, and services across parish properties. Candidates should have five to six years of maintenance, facilities, construction, or trade experience, with prior supervisory experience preferred. A valid Maine driver's license and basic computer proficiency are required.
The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic or someone who respects and enthusiastically supports the mission of the Catholic Church and the Parish of the Holy Eucharist. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to perform occasional physical work, including climbing, lifting, and general facilities oversight.
