Since 1981, our diocese has mandated the establishment of a parish Pastoral Council as a consultative group to the pastor to promote community, be a sign and witness of unity, and to discern God’s will and determine the pastoral plan of the Parish. According to diocesan guidelines, the role and purpose of the Pastoral Council is: “...to assist the pastor in pastoral planning by investigating pastoral matters through a variety of means, pondering them in a prayerful discernment process, and proposing recommendations.” We are pleased to introduce you to our 2023-2024 Parish of the Holy Eucharist Pastoral Council Members.
Our Parish Pastoral Council is representative of the entire parish in the life and mission of the church. The Council is a visioning and planning body that advises our pastor in areas of pastoral concern.
Members are appointed by the pastor and serve for a three-year term. Full Pastoral Council meetings are held 4-7 times a year at locations rotating through our churches. Meeting minutes are posted on our website once they have been approved by the Council.
The pastor guides the final decisions of the Council and is the authorizer of any course of action taken.
We, the members of the Pastoral Council, join Father Cartwright, Father Kaseta, Father Marquis, and Deacon Dennis in welcoming you to our parish family. There are many opportunities to share and grow in our faith together and participate in the stewardship of our parish. We invite you to get in touch with any one of us to talk about how we can help you experience all our parish has to offer. The parish website, weekly bulletin, and Flocknote are also valuable resources that are available to answer many of your questions. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] or (207) 847-6890. Pastoral Council Members are pictured below. We look forward to meeting you!
Yours in Christ,
The Pastoral Council of the Parish of the Holy Eucharist
Parish Mission Statement:
We are the Parish of the Holy Eucharist, a Catholic community called to discipleship, seeking deeper communion with God, each other, and our neighbors by celebrating the sacraments, sharing God's word, and serving all in need.
The Pastoral Council meets 4-7 times a year. At each meeting, the minutes of the previous meeting are reviewed, revised if necessary, then approved by the Council. Once approved, the minutes will be published here. Our intent is to keep the minutes of the last several meetings available from this page. Records of earlier meetings can be made available upon request.
