A Knights of Columbus council can work wonders; in fact, with its many programs, it can help change the community, town, city or neighborhood in which we live.
However, a successful Knights of Columbus program depends on people taking the initial idea, modifying it to suit specific situations and local needs, then implementing the program in the way it works.
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic, family, fraternal, service organization. This theme permeates the entire Service Program: all Church, community, council, family, culture of life, and youth activities.
The Service Program is designed to establish each council as an influential and important force within the community, elevate the status of the programming personnel, provide more meaningful and relevant programs of action, establish direct areas of responsibility, build leadership, and ensure the success of council programs.
The Brother James O. Harris Scholarship Program will be offering two $500 scholarships to assist two students with college study. This award is sponsored by Council 15791.
The Scholarship Program provides guidelines for eligibility and application. Find these guidelines here.
Interested students must complete an application form. Download the form here. Printed forms will also be available at the rear of each church. Can't locate one? Call Stephen Griffin (517-0481).
To be considered for an award, a student must submit the form and accompanying materials by April 1. Mail the packet to Stephen M. Griffin, 49 Webster Road, Freeport ME 04032-6229.
The Review Committee must be able to read the Application so it can be judged properly. Please write or print clearly. If you have any questions on the above guidelines or the application, please contact the Council Youth Director at 207-517-0481, or e-mail him at email@example.com. Good Luck.
Recently we presented Coats for Kids to the Gray Food and Clothing Pantry. Given the COLD of the last few days, these coats will be much appreciated.

Thanks to everyone who donated to our Campaign for People with Intellectual Disabilities! We went through a LOT of Tootsie Rolls! Because of your kindness we were able to raise $1,401 for this worthy cause. These funds will be pooled with money raised by other Councils around the State.
